 Brief Introduction:

Albert Ikechukwu Orji popularly known as Iyke Authentic Orji is a Nollywood actor, Script writer, producer and Educator. A veteran and one of the most outstanding intellects in the industry. 

Family Background: 

Sir Iyke Authentic as fondly called hails from Nkwere, in Nkwerre Local government Area of Imo state, but was born  in Aba, Abia state on the 26th of June 1968. He's a second child and a first son of his family. 

Educational Background:

He had his primary education at Old court primary school, Aba, and secondary education at Ogberuru secondary school, Orlu and St.Augustine's Grammar School, Nkwerre, all in Imo state and later got admitted into Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT), where he obtained his Bachelors (Hons) in Education Administration / Supervision, and Political Science respectively in 1999. 

Before graduation, was an award winning President of Students Union Government, Faculty of Education., Enugu state university of science and technology (ESUT).

Early Life and Ambitions: 

Iyke Authentic Orji upon graduation, returned to his bred city of Aba and joined politics to effect positive change within his zone at the time. He contested for councillorship in Aba under PDP and again for a seat in the Abia state House of Assembly under  UPP but unfortunately, non of these  pulled through and he waved politics goodbye. 

 Year of Entry Into Nollywood:

In 1996 Ikechukwu Albert Orji joined the Nigerian movie industry as a script writer, script consultant, and actor. By the year 2000, Sir Iyke Authentic already upgraded his art and became a prolific movie producer with "Ajimmiri" as his debut movie which recorded a successful outing in the movie market at the time. 

The success of the film Ajimmiri inspired a return of it as the "Wrought Of Ajimmiri"  which even outsold the first thereby establishing Ikechukwu Albert Orji as a seasoned producer who quite understands the language and art of quality film making and earned him the nickname "Authentic". He went on to produce other great movies like: 

1. Her Pains'
2. Ikuku Ego, 
3. Uto Ego, 
4. Adamma, 
5. The maidens, 
6. Senseless wife 
7. Ajimmiri
8. Wrought of Ajimmiri amongst others. 

Iyke Authentic Orji is unarguably one of Nollywood Foundation builders and a top member of the defunct Nigerian Actors Guild (NAG) that birthed what we now call Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN). 

Career Outside Nollywood:

In 2003, Iyke Authentic Orji having made his mark in the industry took a break to practice what he studied in the university and joined the Nigerian civil service under the ministry of education and served in these capacities:

1. School Administrator:

International Christians Academy,  Aba between the years of 2003-2008.

2. School tutor: 

High Grade Model Academy Aba,   2008 - 2009.

3. School tutor: 

Practical computer Secondary school Aba, 2008 - 2009.

4. School tutor: 

New World Int'l Schools, Onitsha.  2010-2012.

5. School  Administrator: 

Lucid Comprehensive Secondary school, Nkpor, Onitsha 2013.

 

6. Head of department of arts(HOD): 

Learning Field Int'l schools Omagba, Onitsha, 2014 - 2015.

Return To Nollywood:

In 2016, Iyke Authentic Orji returned to the film industry again and has so far acted a career movie of over one hundred films and still counting.

Ugezu, Chioma Chukwuka, Emeka Nwosu, Clem Ohameze amongst others. 

 

Other Activities Asides Filmmaking:

Asides acting, script writing and producing, Iyke Authentic Orji is also a resource personnel, an influencer, and motivational speaker. He also teaches in high schools as a freelancer and equally attached with a tri-annual local newspaper outlet Nkwerre News Digest as an entertainment columnist and freelance journalist.
